Update: PM Oli reveals his another ambition to own Nepal's own ship

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who has created a niche for himself with his incredibly ambitious plans, has declared his yet another plan to operate Nepal’s own ship. Speaking at a programme organised by CPN-UML aligned women association in Kathmandu on Tuesday, PM Oli said that his detractors have been terrified by his plan to construct the Fast-Track road and railway project but the government is focused on its goal. During his recent China visit in March, PM Oli had inked deal with Chinese authority to use the Chinese port for Nepal’s trade. Before this, Nepal had only access to Indian ports for trade with third countries. “We will not only use the harbour but also operate our own ship in Pacific and Indian oceans,” PM Oli said, “We will bring our goods in our own ship and with China’s train connectivity with Nepal, we can bring Nepal-bound cargos in three days.” He further mentioned that a Nepali flag will be hoisted in Nepal’s ship irrespective of whether other countries hoist their flags in their ship or not. “Why can’t we operate our own ship when we will hHinting at his ambitious plan to connect Nepal with rail, PM Oli said, “Aren’t trains operating in more remote parts than in Nepal? Have some patience and we will materialise this dream.” Talking about the achievements from his India visit in February, PM Oli said that the trade agreements inked with India are strategically significant. “People will realise later why I forged agreements to access ports in Kolkata and Bisakhapatnam,” PM Oli said. “Nepal-bound cargoes from Haldiya in India have now arrived in Birgunj while Kathmandu-bound rail from China has now reached Shigatse.ave
