Fractured Maoist groups joined hand to form a new political party under the leadership of Prachanda to prepare ground for a "socialist revolution" through pro-people capitalist revolution. The merger of 10 Maoists groups, including the UCPN (Maoist) which is a part of the government, was announced at at a programme here. The new party has been named CPN-Maoist-Centre. UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Prachanda will chair the new party. Prachanda, known for his anti-India stance, said the days of Maoists' defeat have come to an end. "This is not only the unity among the Maoists but also a new kind of national unity," the 61-year-old former prime minister said. "This marks the unity among the oppressed and exploited classes," he said.

Three people were killed and five others have gone missing as a landslide hit Lalighat Bazaar of Kotwada-6 in the district on early Friday. The deceased have been identified as Dhanamati Tamata of Syna-2, Hira Tiruwa of Syna-5 and Laxman Bhandari of Dhaulagoha, Police Inspector Tek Jora told Repblica Online. Five have gone missing in the landslide. Those missing in the landslide are Sanjite Tamata, 50, of Syuna-2, Shrista Bam, daughter of Takka Bam of Thirpu-5, Mani Subedi, 50 of Raku-2 and Aja Sarki's four-month-old son of Bajura Gotri-1.The landslide triggered by a heavy rain on Thursday night swept away over 20 houses of the Lalighat Bazaar. According to police only three among those buried in the landslide have been identified. A search rescue work for those missing in the landlide is underway. Eight people are injured in the monsoon-induced disaster, said DSP Kishan Singh Budal.

Methodology: This was a retrospective study conducted at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) over a period of one year from 15th Feb 2007 to 14th Feb 2008. All the term babies who had Apgar score of less than < 6 at 1 minute of birth were included. Detailed maternal risk factors during pregnancy and labor were analyzed.
The newborn babies who required admission in neonatal unit were again analyzed for development of hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) and their outcome.Results: During the study period, out of 3594 term babies, 327 babies (9%) were asphyxiated. Of the total asphyxiated babies, 85% and 15% had moderate and severe asphyxia, respectively, at 1 minute of birth. Out of these asphyxiated babies, 51% and 7% had intrapartum and maternal risk factors, respectively. Intrapartum risk factors like meconium stained liquor, non-vertex presentation, and fetal heart rate abnormalities accounted for 4 fold risk of asphyxia. Of these babies, 26% required admission in nursery and 29% developed hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy. Among the admitted babies 6% expired, 2% left against medical advice and rest were discharge

Chicago IL: Hindi Lovers Club celebrated, in grand style, Hindi Diwas, the birth anniversary of Hindi being declared the national language of India, under the patronage of Consul General of India, on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Ashyana Banques in Downers Grove, Illinois. The program commenced with traditional lighting of lamp by OP Meena, Consul in the Consulate General of India and the Board Members of the Club. Vande Mataram was sung by Preetish Chakraborty, Indian National Anthem by Balodyan kids, and American National Anthem by Kiran. In attendance were over 350 guests.
OP Meena, who was the Chief Guest at the event, said that the demand for making Hindi as one of the official languages of the United Nations Organization is gaining momentum, at a fast pace, considering the staggering 457 millions Hindi speakers across the globe, including 337 millions in India.
Meena said that Hindi has been the most popular language among Indian immigrants in different parts of the world while at the same time it has emerged as the acceptable link language in India with 70 to 80 percent of the Indian population speaking or understanding it. He underlined the importance of Hindi in preserving the culture, identity, and unity among Indians, irrespective of the region to which they belong.
